City Planner

The City Planner is responsible for checking that projects
comply with Zoning Ordinances, and processing discretionary
development applications through the Planning Commission and
the City Council. |
Our
newest employee is Stephen Avis, who started as Assistant Planner on
10/4/04. He came to us from the Humboldt County Planning Department,
where he worked as a Building Permit Tech.
 Stephen's current work assignment includes coordination of the City's General Plan update. He is the staff person assigned to the Design Review Board, reviews both site plans for building projects and applications for business licenses. He has been on the job for just over one year.

Planning Department staff is located at City Hall and is available for
walk-ins from 8 to 10 a.m., and 3:30 to 5 p.m., or by
appointment, Monday through Friday.
