FORTUNA SENIOR TRANSIT

Click on the picture to see it full size!Fortuna Senior Transit serves Senior Citizens (50 and older) and persons with disabilities. Two buses operate Monday through Friday and one on Saturday between 9 AM to 3:30 PM. The bus will pick you up at your residence and return you. They will take you to doctor appointments, hair appointments, grocery stores, errands or visiting family or friends in the Fortuna city limits.

The buses operate on a call-in reservation basis and you can call one day ahead for routine trips, one calendar month in advance for doctor appointments, and up to one week in advance for other appointments. Trips to many Parks & Recreation sponsored events are free! Call 725-7625 after 8:30 AM to ask the current fare or to schedule reservations and return trips.



FORTUNA DEPOT MUSEUM

The Depot Museum houses intriguing memorabilia from railroad, logging, farm, kitchen and war eras, keeping alive the history of Fortuna and the Eel River Valley. Come see our newly redecorated rooms: Rohner Room, kindly donated by Frank Rohner, learn the history of the Rohner family and Rohner Park; Reference Room, research the history of Fortuna and surrounding areas; Train Room, come see the new replica of local Eel Valley point of interest, donated by Buck Buchanen.

Winter (Sept - May ) hours: Noon-4:30 pm ~ Thursday - Sunday.
Summer (June - Aug) hours: Noon-4:30 PM ~ 7 days a week.

Free admission. Prearranged tours are available by calling 725-7645

The Parks & Recreation Department offers many activities and works with local nonprofit groups to provide other leisure activities. You can sign up for the events and activities at the Parks Office during business hours.
